As many of you have heard me say in years past, tomorrow (November 16th) marks the first business day of the new year. While there are 46 calendar days left in 2021 I contend tomorrow is the first business day of 2022.
My reasoning … working from a 45-day close sales cycle, the income you will earn from any new business between now and the final calendar day of 2021 will be received in 2022.
Operating under that logic, the holiday season provides multiple opportunities to connect and reconnect with past clients, referral partners, family, friends, and other members of your sphere of influence. While events may continue to be different than in years past due to certain restrictions, there are endless opportunities to personally reach out to those most influential in helping you grow your business or will help you grow your future business.
So, my question for you is, what expectations do you have for your business in 2022? And, what are you willing to do to meet or exceed your expectations? Whatever it is, it begins tomorrow…the first business day of 2022.
I truly hope each of you commits the time to disconnect from your work demands to enjoy this holiday season with family and friends. With that said, I encourage you to balance that quality personal time while continuing to execute as much of your normal daily business routine, ensuring continuity in January and February. Take advantage of your competition’s complacency this season, many of whom will undoubtedly coast through the next 6 – 8 weeks, and if you do, you will take your ‘unfair share’ of the business in your market(s). If you can effectively manage your priorities, personal and professional, during the next 45 days, the first quarter of the 2022 calendar year will be a strong closing quarter for you and will create a great foundation for your spring and summer selling seasons.
Continued Success,
Jason
