LUNAR NEW YEAR – CHINATOWN
Join the Lunar New Year Celebration in Chinatown, which includes lion and dragon dances, martial arts demonstrations, arts & crafts, and a food walk that has 40 destinations surrounding Hing Hay Park, 423 Maynard Ave. S in Seattle.



CD & RECORD SALE
“Find tons of collectible records, CDs, and other music-related collectibles for sale” on 50 tables during Northwest Record Show at Seattle Center Armory, 305 Harrison St. in Seattle. Early admission at 8 a.m. costs more. Held in spring and fall. Poster.


HOT-AIR BALLOONS
If the weather cooperates, watch a dozen hot-air balloons inflate and launch each morning (7 to 9 a.m.) at Winthrop Balloon Roundup. Park at Methow Valley Thriftway, 920 State Rte 20 in Winthrop. The Saturday night glow (5:30 p.m.) is on Riverside Ave. No pets or smoking.


MUSSEL FESTIVAL
Penn Cove MusselFest offers food vendors, cooking demonstrations, mussel farm tours by boat ($22, $6 child), chowder tasting ($54), a beer & wine garden, mussel-eating competitions, and kids’ activities at Coupeville Wharf, 24 Front St. NW in Coupeville on Whidbey Island. The $54 Mussel Mingle for adults is Fri. & Sat. evening.


GOURMET COOKING CLASSES
Enjoy an appetizer as you watch a professional chef prepare a meal, and then get “substantial tastes” at classes offered by Hot Stove Society in Hotel Andra, 2000 4th Ave. in Seattle. This weekend try Turkish Mezze and French Soufflés.


COLOR FESTIVAL – REDMOND
Attended by 10,000 people, Festival of Color has music, dancers, food vendors, and colored powder flying through the air at Redmond City Hall Campus, 15670 NE 85th St. in Redmond. Admission and parking are free, but there is a cost to buy colored powder.


CHILDREN’S BUSINESS FAIR
Shop from dozens of booths run by young entrepreneurs ages 5 to 17 selling food, art, toys, and more during Children’s Business Fair at Impact Black River Elementary, 16906 116th Ave. SE in Renton.


BOURBAN TASTING
Sample dozens of bourbons with heavy appetizers, and admire the view from the 21st floor, at $263 Bellevue Bourbon Bash at Daniel’s Broiler, 10500 NE 8th St. in Bellevue. Bring age 21+ ID.


COMICON
Emerald City Comic Con is a giant “comics, anime, gaming, entertainment, and pop culture event” that encourages attendees to wear costumes. Located at Seattle Convention Center, 705 Pike St. in Seattle.
