TACOMA KITE DAY
Watch professionals perform kite tricks, visit food trucks, and fly a kite at the Kite Festival in the central meadow at Chambers Creek Regional Park, 6320 Grandview Drive W in University Place. Bring a kite or order one online for $6. Parking $10.


SEAFAIR HYDROPLANES & AIR SHOW
Seafair Weekend Festival includes three days of hydroplanes racing on Lake Washington and airplanes flying overhead in the Boeing Air Show, with the Blue Angels daily at 3:30 p.m. The classic car show is Sat. & Sun. near Stan Sayres Memorial Park, 3808 Lake Washington Blvd. S in Seattle. Admission is free on Friday.


BLUE ANGELS EVENTS
The Blue Angels perform on one practice day (Thurs. 11 a.m. & 3:30 p.m.) and three air show days (Fri., Sat., Sun. at 3:30 p.m.). Watch them free, or pay for a special event: Jet Blast Bash has food vendors, a beer garden, and family workshops next to Boeing Field. It’s included with admission to The Museum of Flight. Premium seating ranges from grandstands to VIP sections. Watch from aboard a boat, departing from Ballard, Kirkland, or Lake Union. Argosy Cruises — Kirkland/Lake Union & Waterways Cruises — Ballard/Lake Union.


MAGNOLIA SUMMER FESTIVAL
Magnolia Summerfest includes live music, a kids’ zone with free activities, a beer garden, a vendor village, a movie (Fri. dusk), a parade (Sat. 10 a.m.), and a talent show (Sun. 10 a.m.) at Magnolia Playfield, 2518 34th Ave. W in Seattle. Schedule.


BOTHELL NIGHT MARKET
Shop for food, drinks, and crafts at Night Bites in the plaza at Bothell City Hall, 18415 101st Ave. NE in Bothell.


EASTSIDE WINE WALK
The $39 Downtown Issaquah Wine & Art Walk includes 12 tasting tokens to redeem at shops along picturesque Front Street. VIP at Capri Cellars. Check in at the library or at Downtown Issaquah Association, 232 Front St. N in Issaquah. Bring your own glass and age 21+ ID. Held several times a year.


TACOMA SALMON BAKE
The Original Browns Point Salmon Bake has a dinner, other food options, a beer garden, music, and kids’ games on the water at Browns Point Improvement Club, 201 Ton A Wan Da Ave. NE in Tacoma. This event is only held in even numbered years.


CONCERT AT THE LOCKS
Hear a Free Summer Concert on the lawn at beautiful Hiram M. Chittenden Locks, 3015 NW 54th St. in Seattle. Bring a picnic, chairs, and blankets, but no alcohol. Rain may cancel. Held on Saturday, Sunday, and Labor Day.


AFRICAN FESTIVAL & PARADE
Umoja Fest delivers “music, food, culture, and family fun” at Judkins Park and Playfield, 2150 S Norman St. in Seattle. The parade (Sat. 1 p.m.) usually goes south on 23rd Avenue, from E. Cherry St. to S. Jackson St.


FIBER CRAFTING FESTIVAL
Shop from more than 100 vendors of hand-dyed yarn, fiber, and crafts during Flock Fiber Festival at Seattle Convention Center Summit, 900 Pine St. in Seattle. The schedule includes classes both days plus Friday.
