The spell has been cast, and the transformation has begun. Geek Week PDX is returning to Portland, offering a citywide celebration of geek culture. Dubbed “the world’s first citywide comic con,” this festival transforms over 100 local businesses into hubs of pop culture, featuring events that span fantasy, sci-fi, superheroes, and the supernatural.
MT. ANGEL OKTOBERFEST
In the heart of Oregon’s hop-growing region, Mount Angel’s Oktoberfest brings 350,000 people to the Bavarian village every September. The Northwest’s oldest and best-loved folk festival celebrates the fruits of the harvest with a nice focus on hops. German-style biers, Northwest craft brew favorites, lots of wine, and a bit of cider are served in four biergartens, each showcasing different favorites.

The Building Industry Association of Clark County presents the 47th annual GRO Parade of Homes, a showcase of the Pacific Northwest’s finest home architecture, design, and construction. Featuring the latest in high-end home construction, the GRO Parade of Homes offers a walk-through experience of six homes at The Nines at Camas Meadows.
9/11 DAY OF REMEMBRANCE
Join WSU Clark County Master Gardeners and people from across the county and around the world for a day of community service in remembrance of 9-11. Help spiff up the Natural Demonstration Garden at Pacific Park. Tasks will include weeding, pruning and whatever else is needed. Dress for the weather. Bring water. Tools provided.
