For a few nights each year, the Portland Winter Light Festival transforms the City of Roses into a city of lights. Designed to bring light to the wintry darkness, this free festival returns every winter season with imaginative works that combine light and technology to create interactive experiences.
CASCADE FESTIVAL OF AFRICAN FILMS
The Cascade Festival of African Films shows us, Africa, through the eyes of Africans, rather than a vision of Africa packaged for Western viewers. The films celebrate Africa’s achievements, expose its failures, and reveal possibilities for a hopeful future. Although the films cannot represent an entire continent, we hope to encourage American viewers to become interested in and study African cultures.
FARMERS MARKET AT PORTLAND STATE UNIVERSITY
The campus of Portland State University on the South Park Blocks provides a picturesque backdrop for Portland Farmers Market’s year-round flagship market. Farmers and artisan food producers fill 140 stall spaces with the bounty of our region.
VALENTINE’S CRUISE
This Valentine’s Cruise Party is the perfect ship to celebrate love, friendship, and future relationship. They will have a traditional live Mariachi band on the first floor and hip hop on the second floor!

2023 VALENTINE’S DAY BALL VOLUNTEER
Volunteers are needed to support a wonderful evening of memories, music, and dancing at our Annual Valentine’s Day Ball. Volunteers aged 16+ will help with a wide variety of tasks. There are multiple shifts over two nights of dances. Volunteer roles include setup, registration, food and drink tables, as well as fun stations like selfies and tattoos!
LAUGH YOUR WAY: A COUPLES EVENT
Mark Gungor, one of the most sought-after speakers on love and marriage, explores the underlying dynamics of male/female relationships. In Laugh Your Way his teaching brings striking clarity and practical solutions to common relationship woes. LINCOLN CITY BIRD WALK
Join the Lincoln City Bird Walk. This is an easy walk through the forest right in the heart of Lincoln City. We’ll look for year-round residents such as Downy Woodpecker and wintering sparrows.

Join downtown merchants for a special evening event Sip and Shop! Each of the businesses participating will be sharing tastes of their favorite adult beverages and hosting a variety of sales and special offers. There is no cost or registration associated with the event – just an invitation to come downtown, relax and be social!

MUSIC IN PUBLIC PLACES
Enjoy music from the Dove String Quartet with a live singer. Music in Public Places is a program of the Central Oregon Symphony Association. These concerts are held at Central Oregon venues that traditionally are not recognized as being music concert venues. MIPP concerts are designed to offer serendipitous music experiences for the community, free of charge.
