JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION IN EUGENE
Juneteenth celebrates the ending of slavery in the United Sates and this second annual all-ages, family-friendly event at Alton Baker Park is designed to bring together and empower the black community and educate the community. The celebration runs from 12:00-7:00 and this year’s theme is Turning Trauma into Joy.
HIKE THE JESSE WRIGHT SECTION OF THE NORTH UMPQUA TRAIL
Meet at the Roseburg Library at 8:30 or the Glide Post Office and participate in a group hike hosted by Umpqua Watersheds on Saturday. The 4.1 mile trail (one way, from Marsters Bridge at MP 50) is rated ‘moderate’ and runs along the river near Eagle Rock with spectacular views of columnar basalt.
