On this day we recognize all the incredible benefits federal, state, and local trails provide for recreation and exposure to nature, so lace up your boots and explore a trail you haven’t hiked before. Here are some of the best trails in and around Eugene.
WALK WITH A DOC IN EUGENE
Walk with a Doc is a walking program on the first Saturday of every month for everyone interested in taking steps for a healthier lifestyle. What better way to start your weekend than on your feet making strides to help your heart and improving your general health to live longer! While you walk at your own pace, you’ll have the opportunity to have questions answered by local physicians. Meet at Owen Rose Garden at 11:00am.
FAMILY FUN AT EUGENE’S MUSEUM OF NATURAL AND CULTURAL HISTORY
Spark your child’s curiosity about our past, present, and future. In June the museum is featuring track & field competitions like no other — with cheetahs, kangaroos, chimps and other mammals going for the gold! Learn which animals would triumph on the track and explore the amazing adaptations that make it all possible. Great for children ages three and up.
TAKE A HIKE TO WATSON FALLS
This 1-mile loop trail through the woods near Clearwater features a beautiful waterfall. Take Highway 138 East of Roseburg between milepost 60 and 61. Turn South on Road 27 and park in the lot on your right. Leashed dogs are welcome to join you on this trail rated ‘moderate.’
SUMMER CONCERT AT DELFINO WINERY
Reserve a table in advance and head to Delfino Winery in Roseburg on Saturday to hear the Homemade Jam Band from 1:00-4:00. $10 ticket price includes music door prizes and a souvenir wine glass. The Bun Stuffer food truck will also be on site to sell their delicious grass-fed burgers and non-beef sandwiches.
